What have you guys used on your race cars to replace the fuel tank carbon cannister vent that is located in the driver side wheel well?

I was looking at one of the Fuel Safe Vent Valves with Rollover Protection.

Anybody used the Fuel Safe product before?

If so, do you have any pictures of the mounting location?

My replacement is to throw the canister away and point the hose down into the wheel well. Matt Chambers rolled his 944 with it like this and not one drop of fuel came out during the 20+ minutes it was upside down. It was rolled back onto the wheels, we replaced the windshield and cleaned the oil out of the air filter and it was racing the next day. Greg

Since during the purge cycle the line is connected to the intake, I replaced the carbon cannister with a simple inline fuel filter with the hose running down to the ground.

There is a roll over valve in the mess of hoses around the filler tube.

With that noted I should be able to remove the vent tube that runs to the front of the car.

Thanks

Be advised it will smell like fuel in the car if you just delete the vent line. Better to shorten it and run it out the RR along with the overflow line. Greg
