Attention all racers:

I have been in touch with the Tech Inspector for SCCA NE. He will be joining us at NJMP on April 18, 2010 (just Sunday) at NJMP. We can have our cars inspected and receive an SCCA Logbook as preparation for the National Runoffs , in September.

It is vital that you review the SCCA GCR ( http://scca.com/contentpage.aspx?content=44 )to make sure that you are eligible to run with SCCA. You may want to check their race schedule as well.

If anyone already has an SCCA National License we may need your help inspecting the cars. Please let me know.

Larry, do we need to have a SCCA membership and race license to get our cars inspected? Or can that be done at a later time?

You should not need to be an SCCA member to start a logbook for the car. One of the recent changes SCCA has instituted is that all cars must now have an annual inspection before competition. The car will need to be compliant and all your driver gear in spec before they will issue the annual. Greg F

Per the SCCA Inspector:
"A race license is not required to get a vehicle logbook. A membership might be nice, but I am not sure it would be required. I certainly don't need to see any licenses when looking at the car. "

A logical position is that you want to know if the car will pass and u can race before u spend the money on joining scca.

In the MidAtlantic we will be charging drivers to get a log book to cover the techs cost of getting there and a small gratuity for his trouble.
