The Coordinator of Pass Control for The Baltimore Gran Prix reports there is a need for more volunteers to work the Baltimore GP. As a pass control volunteer, there are only a few requirements to be met to gain access to the event. There is a mandatory orientation session and 25 hours of volunter time spent at the BGP, basically six hours a day on duty over the weekend.

As a PASS CONTROL AGENT, youhave full access to anywhere in the track facility except VIP TENT and MEDIA TENT. This includes unfettered access to PIT ROAD AND ALL PADDOCK AREAS. It comes with free tickets you can give away or use to the BGP for three day access when you are off duty, t shirts, polo shirts, a hat and some other goodies as well as food and an afterparty Sunday night. No other volunteer positions have more access than PASS CONTROL. You get to see all the on track action including Qual and practice seesions trackside in Hot Zones that are restricted to everyone but Pass Control and track workers, flaggers and safety workers, etc. It's pretty intense to be three feet away from an Indycar going 165 mph!

There is a link for more info. Please pass it along to anyone else you think might be interested.
