Hi guys,

My factory manual doesn't have the specs for the cam timing for the 2.7L engine, just the 2.5L. Something like intake open 1 deg after tdc, intake close 49 deg after bdc, etc. Anybody have those numbers? Or a pointer on where I can find them?

Somebody said they are the same as the 2.5 but I thought they were a bit different.

Tim, not according to my book. The 2.5L is as follows:

Intake Opens 1 degree. after TDC
Intake Closes 49 degrees after BDC
Exhaust Opens 43 degrees before BDC
Exhaust Closes 3 degree before TDC

Bill, BTW are you sure all the 2.7 values are after TDC?

Cris, the specs that I listed are for M44/05 to M44/12 engines. Some of these are 2.5(1985 and up) and also the 2.7. The specs that you listed are for M44/01 to M22/04 engines which includes 2.5's up to 1984.

Those would be the specs for the 09 cam versus the 05 camshaft from the earlier cars. Greg F

So to clarify.....late 944 85.5 and higher 8V 2.5L and 2.7L 8V have the same cam?

Intake Opens 1 degree after TDC
Intake Closes 49 degrees after BDC
Exhaust Opens 47 degrees before BDC
Exhaust Closes 1 degree before TDC

This produces a 2 degree overlap

True?
