1991 944 S2 3.0 for sale, red car, #400. Current PCA SP3 car with PCA and NASA (GTS2) logs. Car built by Karl Poeltl, Racer's Edge, and is based out of Knoxville, TN.
Car has all the Racers Edge parts that Karl is famous for, with remote reservoir adjustable LEDA coil overs, adjustable camber plates, solid bushings, with 1000lb springs rear and 750's up front. Lexan front and rear glass. Front could do with a polish to last another season or two. Recent stock motor mounts.
Car has a rear wing and front canards. This is a fast car, and while not perfectly balanced yet since adding the aero pkg, with a bit too much understeer, it was getting closer to dialed in at Watkins Glen and was with the front pack in Sprint 1 when the engine lost a rod bearing.
Lap time in that race was roughly 0.8 sec off the fastest lap of the race. First time at the Glen and less than 20 laps on track prior to the race, it was up there with the big boys. So, with a bit more fine tuning, and a few more laps, there is certainly more time in the car. Car has several podiums and a couple of class/group wins with a relatively low time driver. Wired for cool suit, Full welded Racer's Edge cage. Removable quick release steering wheel. Fiberglass and stock hoods. Stahl header. Low oil pressure light, LSD, Fire Suppression, etc. etc. On CCW's 285/245's with a spare set of Fikse's. One Fikse currently cracked, needs a new inner half. Has M030 sways, upgraded hubs and S4 brakes with CF pads on the front and ducted cooling - it stops!
Asking $13900 obo with blown engine still in car. I have a complete spare good running engine with $100k on it that, for racing, would need new bearings etc. that can go as is with the car for $15,900 obo. Or, if you want it turnkey with the spare engine installed by Racers Edge, with new rod bearings, belts, rollers, cam chain tensioner guide, etc. $22,500.00 obo.
Cosmetic condition is decent, won't win any concours events, has its share of minor bruises, but is very presentable.
Also available without aero pkg and with stock rear spoiler if desired.
