As a newbie, can anyone tell me what wheels you use for the 275 15" Hoosiers on the rear. I have a 88 944 late offset, and Hoosier say the tires need a minimum 9" rim, so my 15 x7 phone dials are out. Suggestions??

The 275's will mount on the standard 15X7" rim....they wont like it much but we do it all the time for AutoX customers with 944's. They seem to work fine in AX situations. Greg F

The 275/50/15's can probably go an a 7" wheel without a problem, Hoosier call for a minimum 7.5". I want to use the new 275/35/15 which needs a recommended 9-11" rim. The Hoosier guys say that a 7" rim is too narrow as the tire is lower profile and it may cause the bead to jump off the rim. Any other thoughts? Anyone out there using the 275/35/15? On what rims??

The guys in the series started us the 275x15 at Nationals in 2008. Everyone that I can think is using the tire on a 9 inch rim. Any 7x15 inch Porsche 944 can be widen to 9 inch for about $125 and shipping.

Hanks Dave $125 sounds reasonable, do you have a name and phone # for who widens them?

I don't think 15 x 8 Fuchs were made with the right offset for 87 and later 944's, otherwise that's the way I would prefer to go over widening the 15x7 phone dials. If you have the early 23 mm offset, then widening 15x8 Fuchs would probably be the way to go.

John the 10 inch wheels would put you into Prepared. You are best to discuss the wheel widening options with the shop that will do the work. I paid $175 per wheel and used 7's as they are cheaper donor wheels.
