i had asked a similar ? last year but now the setup has changed. I pulled the motor last weekend from my racecar that was a 2.5 with an early dme and harness. I plan on putting in my brand new behe 2.7l motor this weekend. My ? is can i start the 2.7 with the 2.5 electronics? i plan on doing the full swap of harness over but im scared to change too many things at once. i just want to put the motor in and make sure it starts then change one component out at a time if thats possible. Also are 2.5 and 2.7 injectors the same just wondering because i have fresh rc tuning rebuild injectors on my 2.5 and would like to swap them.

Good news i got the motor running on both electronic systems this weekend. If anyone else wants to try the swap its a pretty easy swap all that is needed to do is switch the conector from the new 2.7 harness and steal the old one from the 83. Its pretty much just Color matching the whole way.

Also does anyone know if the early 2.5 injectors work on a 2.7 i still have the 2.7 injectors just a have fresh rebuilt ones from the old race motor?
