hey guys want to get your opinions. up until recently i ran a hose from the heater out in the head around to the coolant rail back to the water pump. on my last motor there was a block off plate installed. I have always ran a vent line like lyndsey sells to the catch tank to vent air but im just wondering if this makes cyl 4 alot hotter? Cyl 4 is the one that failed on my car last race and not sure yet if it was the piston that seized in the cyl that made the connecting rod snap or the snapped rod made the piston score the bore. what is everyone else doing with their cars?

Hi If the rod broke first the piston will be moved up only once until its up. More possible the cilinder had lack of lubrication due to being too hot. I wouldn´t recommend blocking the coolant flow. You could better attach this to the coolant pipe above the exhaust. You keep the water flowing that way. Do you have a picture?
