Plumb the heater tube?

Does anyone know of a compelling reason to plumb the heater tube back into the return tube at the back of the head rather than remove it and install a block-off plate a la: http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Porsche/944COOLINGSYSMISC/LR-BOP-102.html? I've seen many of them blocked off. Is the back of the head hotter that way?

Some builders consider it to be more difficult to get the trapped air out of the cylinder head without the flow through the heater passage, but I think it makes little difference. Best would be to plug it and install one of the vent kits that helps remove the air from the head. Greg F

Thanks Greg. You're writing about something like Lindsey's steam vent http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Parts/STEAMVENT.html? I thought that was something only turbos had to worry about, so I've never considered it.
