Since NASA just announced that you can use Hoosier for 944 Spec, and Hoosier announced a contingency program for 44Spec:

April 7, 2011 1:59 PM — NAPA VALLEY, CA (April 7, 2011) The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) is pleased to announce effective May 1, 2011 Hoosier Racing Tire will extend it’s generous contingency program to include the American Iron, Honda Challenge, and 944 Spec classes.
The newly announced contingency program expansion which will apply only to competitors competing on the “R” compound tire will award up to 4 free tires per race to class competitors. For complete details on the new Hoosier contingency offerings for the American Iron, Honda Challenge, and 944 Spec classes, please visit http://www.nasaproracing.com/contingency.

What are the chances of getting Hoosier back on board for 944Cup at NASA events. We have a couple on the schedule. Of should we all run as 944Spec now? :D

I believe we already have a 944 Cup contingency with Hoosier for this year, but only at the NASA events (2).

I thought that was only for PCA events?

So I'm confused, my normal state. Since we're running with multiple sanctioning bodies this year, could DD summarize the tire situation with each group?

That is just too funny. Hoosier tires being used in Spec, never thought I would see that. A spec tire has always been the holy grail of the spec classes.

This development is fairly interesting though when you consider what our rules about 944 spec and sp1 racing in Cup: In addition, the same models competing in PCA SP1 and NASA 944-Spec are eligible providing that they meet all the current 944-Spec rules as issued by the respective sanctioning body and comply with power limits set forth in Section 10.1 of these rules.

So now spec cars racing in the 944 Cup can use Hooisers or any other DOT R Tire making these cars instantly more competitive. Be interesting to see how PCA reacts to this change for SP1.
