I'm with Bob on this one. Daytona is on my bucket list and would love to race there not just drive it.

My vote was for Daytona as well. "Pedro Says" we can always stop at South of the border for the night!

I've been at South of the Border at 3 am. I can't recommend it.

This weekend at the 24 Hours of Daytona, the feature class with the Daytona DP cars had only 14 entries. I am sure the 944 Cup could do better then that.
Really kind of a joke considering all the hoopla from Speed channel about the event. Helps to own the track, the series and the TV channel when marketing the event.
I am a big fan of the event and the track, been there numerous times, including back in the late 1960's . Guess I was spoiled from when the 24 Hrs was a event for the International Championship for GT Manufacturers with the Ferrari 512S, Ford GT40, Lola T70, Chaparral, Alfa Romeo, Porsche 906, Porsche 908, Porsche 917 and Shelby Cobra doing battle. Not to mention the difference in the talent level of the drivers. And the only way you got to see these races was to be there.
Just the ramblings of and old man. Please pardon the interruption.

after watching some of the coverage this weekend I couldn't help but be thinking that I'd love to drive there. I think we'd see prolonged speeds like we're not even used to.

When the open hauler arrived at Rennsport Reunion II with all those 944's , even Brian Redman was impressed, as he told when he came by the Cup paddock. I flatted in the final race that weekend. Never had a flat on a race track in the 10 years. So I'd really like to get my revenge on that track...
