I share your disappointment, DD.
What about NJMP/T-Bolt?
That one seems to work well for me, 2 for 2!

NJMP would be too early. Ideally we finish up the regional races coming into nationals.

SCCA is showing a round at Thunderbolt Mid-August (16-17).
Perhaps more interestingly, they're also scheduling for the newly revised Thompson, CT, two weeks later.

The date for LR would be Sept 19-20. Drivers would all be required to have a SCCA Pro comp license. SCCA Pro is willing to provide drivers who hold a current PCA or NASA club race comp license with a weekend Pro license for $70 (regular pricing is $325). If you have a scca club race, SCCA would waive the fee. http://www.sccaproracing.com/

LR would be offering at least 2 hours of track time and special pricing which would be passed along to drivers by means of an entry fee well below the current norm.

Cup would share the weekend at LR with Trans Am ( http://www.gotransam.com/about/ ) and possibly another Pro series such as F2000 .

And one of the reasons SCCA Pro has been pursuing the 944 Cup, they think an all Porsche series and the 944 is a good grassroots draw.

Event credentials for the 944 Cup portion of the Event, Five (5) credentials total: to include: driver plus four (4) crew credentials for full weekend access.

Like a phoenix rising out of the ashes, Monticello is back on. While much needs to yet be done to iron out some details and a contract has not yet been signed, Monticello officials brought the track back into play as the likely location for the 2014 Cup Nationals along with a PCA club race.

Not certain whether it will be a 2 or 3 day event, but the dates would be October 10,11,12.

PCA has clearance from the National office. The date is available for the track. And the 944 Cup is all in. This is firm enough that I would consider booking a room now before the news of a new PCA club race spreads thru the internet.
