I am working on the Cup 2012 literally everyday. Its a very fluid endeavor, with changes happening constantly by the tracks and sanctioning bodies, and then considering options and reshuffling choices. A good Nationals date can have a major influence on the final schedule. Looking for 12 regionals races for each chapter, plus the usual races at Nationals that count for regional points.
Right now I am waiting on replies from NASA NE and SCCA Pro on possible dates for the North and South Chapters and Nationals.
The South so far looks like this: Dec 2/4 Roebling Road pca 2/3sprints Feb 2/5 Sebring pca 2 SPRINT + 1 ENDURO Mar 23/25 Road Atlanta pca 2 SPRINTS + 1 ENDURO Jun 22/24 VIR pca 3 SPRINTS + 1 ENDURO
Another VIR date is possible with SCCA Pro or Daytona with pca in October. =================== The North like this: June 1-2 Watkins Glen pca 2 sprints June 22/24 VIR pca 3 sprints July 28/29 NJMP Lightning emra 2 or 3 sprints Sept 8/9 NJMP Lightning emra 2 or 3 sprints September 28-30 Summit Point pca 3 sprints
Other possible dates which could bump one or more of the races above: Aug 18/19 BeaverRun 2 or 3 sprints April 20 -22 NJMP Lightning nasa 2 or 3 Sept. 28 -30 Watkins Glen nasa 2 or 3 sprints
============ Canada like this: June 1-2 Watkins Glen pca 2 sprints June 23 and 24 Mosport WC 2/3 sprints July 6/7/8 Mosport pca 2 sprints Aug 10/12 Calabogie IMSA 2/3 sprints Sept 28-29-30.Mt Tremblant 3 sprints and 1 enduro
A possibles that coud bump a date above: Sept 7/8/9 Calabogie mco 2/3 sprints
=================== National Possibles:
Sept. 28 -30 Watkins Glen nasa Oct. 26 - 28 NJMP Thunderbolt nasa Date unknown VIR SCCA Pro
A date at the Glen or VIR could impact regional races listed above.

For years, I mean something like 20 at least, the Mt-Tremblant race has been on the 3rd weekend of September, not the last, as stated above. I do say that it is not possible for 2012, but I doubt. Unless you have more info on that than me PCA at Mosport that early in July? Nationals at VIR for me!!! But that's my personal choice. I know that lots of people think it's far from Quebec... c.

How about Mid Ohio with PCA in August instead of Beaverun?

The Tremblant date is as provided to me by the Canada Chapter Director, but maybe you have info he doesnt. The PCA Mosport date not officially announced by PCA, but this is the date I hear. And, it would be second to a date at Calabogie with MCO where we would get a 944 Cup run grp and and could make some money for the series, if it becomes available. Dont know when the VIR date with scca pro will be, if at all, so its a long shot for Nationals.

And while Mid Ohio is a much better track, The Beav is closer for most drivers in the North Chapter and the 944 Cup would gets its own run grp and could possible make some money for the series. PCA does not share entry fees with the Cup. But, even at that, the Beav is a long shot to get on the schedule.

You mean that you would ship the PCA race in favor of a second race at Calabogie in September? Am I correct? That would mean 7 weeks without a race in the middle of the summer... And then a bunch of races quite close together in September... c.
