Hi,

I’ve recently purchased my first 944 and completely love it. I had no idea that there was a cup series for this car prior to me purchasing it. I’d love to compete in this cup but unfortunately my 944 is a convertible. I’ve read the rules and notice it doesn’t really touch on this. So my question is, is a convertible able to compete in this cup?

Jason:

Nothing in the Cup rules that prevent it. However, you would need to check each sanctioning body's rules to ensure the car meets their safety rules.

Checked with PCA, they dont have any prohibtiton against racing convertibles, but do have additional safety requirements for convertibles which would need to be adhered to.

Unless it has been 'chopped' or is a Turbo cab imported from Great Brittan.
