Question by 944 Turbo Owner:

If the chips are free, then as long as I limit boost to 12.5 lbs, am i free to the amount of horsepower that can be generated? Or, am I still limited to 237 hp?

Cup Answer:
The 944 Cup, including the PCA SP 944 classes, no longer place a limit on HP using stock engine parts (other than exceptions provided for in rules), as there is no longer a way to measure HP at PCA races. The dme chip is free, but the klr must be stock.

Simply put you must use or have stock boost. approx 12.5 lbs max.

And so can be said for every other class in PCA, if you hold that to be true. PCA doesn't use dyno's to check HP, and will not likely in the future.

For several years now PCA is where the series has landed for numerous other reasons, not the least of which is that this is where the series has drawn the best car count and provides the best 944 racing around. This is the world the series lives in with no plans to change.
