For 2015 the Cup rules for SP2/Stock, the tire section width will be reduced to 245mm.
For SP2/Prep, the tire section width will be reduced to 275mm. The combination of tire and rim must fit under the fender.

Some have asked if the replacement tire for the 275 will be available as it is not shown on the Hoosier site fin the R7 model. Yes, this tire size will be made and offered in 2015. Hoosier is hoping for a November or December production date. There is a new part number for this tire being made in the A7 / R7 design.

Item 46522 – R7 / A7: P245/40ZR-15 R7 / A7 - $251.00 each

You may recall we limited the tire width for the sp2/stock to 245 for this year and beyond.
Last years limit was 275.

Heard this week from drivers preparing for Sebring that they cant find the intended replacement, the 245/40/15.

Just spoke to Jeff Speer at Hoosier. Both the R6 275/35/15 and 245x40x15, are out of production and none are available. At this moment both the R7 in both those same sizes are also not being produced. For the 245 size, Hoosier is waiting on a mold part that is holding up production. They will be produced this year and are expected to be in production sometime in February.

While not as desirable from a profile standpoint, the P245/50ZR15 is available and will fit on a 9 inch rim also. We have not granted an exception to the tire limit rule for Sp2/stock for Sebring. These other 245's tires are currently available from Hoosier.

Drivers wanting to race the 275's can race as SP2/Prep. Hoosier hopes to make a run of 275's next week with the hope of having them available at Sebring.
