I say let them have it. Stock only no aftermarket systems. The front runners at Nationals the last few years have not had it.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Thank you to everyone for the input on the subject. For 2011 the, the factory ABS system will be legal for the Cup class. I am always inclined not to make a part illegal if we have allowed in the rules previously. We have allowed factory abs for 10 years and so I dont want to reverse now without a very good reason. I dont see the advantage to be enough to effect the outcome of races. And, drivers do have the option of updrading to abs if they think it that important.

However on a cautionary note to all abs users and those thinking of going that way: if I have any indication that the the factory abs equipment is being modified or upgraded with nonfactory parts which cannot be easily detected, then I will make abs illegal for the Cup class.

I also have an "89" and was able to easily get it down to prepared weight. Car still has ABS components but have never engaged it and think its not really functioning. Do have Turbo brakes and that may be the reason for never really getting into the ABS...or maybe I'm just a puss on brakes!

ABS, sometimes it helps sometimes it doesnt. It should be allowed.

When I go for a spirited run in my TT, the first thing I do is turn off the PSM. Personally, I want the car to do what I want not what it wants.
