Appreciate the attempt at answering the question, however, the reference to the GCR is not applicable, or in other cases even the PCA rule book for that matter. The 944 Cup rules are fully self contained and what you need to know about the series is contained in the 944 Cup Rules. The Cup rules no longer make reference to PCA or SCCA Prep.

Rear coilovers are not permitted for Prep 2, but are allowed for Stock and Prep 1 .

A splitter is allowed in Stock and Prep 1, but not allowed for Prep 2 as the rules do not provide for anything other then the stock spolier.

The spoiler omission from the Cup rules will need to be addressed at some point as nearly all of the former SCCA cars here in the NW use a small ( 2.5 to 3") spoiler extension that is bolted or riveted to the stock airdam. It is not a splitter, as those are horizontal but is actually a front spoiler/air dam. It is an accepted SCCA mod and helps keep the factory plastic front valance in one piece when off roading. A true splitter would not be allowed under the old SCCA rules unless it conformed exactly to the size limitations spelled out under the spoiler rule. Greg F

Unfortunately the rule making for the year is over and with PCA having published their rules for SP2 already out their in the club, not much we can do for anything official for changing rules in 2011. Remind me when we are making changes for 2012. For practical purposes in the NW where are the cars have been prepped to SCCA ITS rules, in th einterim we are not going to disqualify a car as illegal for something widely used and permitted last yr in the NW.

In reading the rules, can you guys answer a couple of questions:
1. Can you run a splitter in SCCA prep?
2.Are rear coil overs allowed if the torsion bars remain in the car?

Thanks!

Rob you would have to run 7 inch wheels all around as well.

I could do the wheels, but the rear coil overs bump me. So much for my grand plans to catch you;)
