Please clarify the rule for chips in 2011. I read the posting and responses and seem to be a little confused (though it is not anything new for me:)) I have an early DME (1983 car) and it does not have the plug in chip though I could rechip it if I buy a BMW DME and mate it with my DME (according to what I have read). Because of this, I run a stock DME. I am also SCCA prep so I run the SCCA tires, stock dme, and etc. Do I need to get my DME inspected and sealed? Do the new chips being used in the series provide an advantage or are they "stock"? Thanks Joey Sullivan |

However, if you want to be eligible to win tires and to be a Cup Regional Champ or our National Champion, you will need to have a certifed one map chip and sealed stock dme. To satify this requirement, you will need to convert your early stock dme to accept a new chip or use a late stock dme. |
