Any PCA member may apply for a Club Racing license if they have an existing, active competition license from a recognized wheel-to-wheel racing organization outside of PCA. For more detail, including the necessary forms, use the link provided below:

Hey Dave in the instructions it says you have to have a physical no more then 60 days old is that being waived for us since we hold multiple licenses.

New Rookie application ... the medical form may be no more than 60 days old

New Provisional Application ... the medical form may be up to 12 months old assuming that there are no medical issues ...

Renewal Medicals are extended based on the examination date but are never good for more than 24 months

PCA will accept a fully completed, properly signed and dated NASA medical form ...

I needed to renew my medical this year for NASA/SCCA anyway. Is it safe to assume that NASA/SCCA will accept the PCA medical form?

NASA will accept. SCCA allows you to use your NASA or PCA license to race with them (ps we have no races this yr with scca).

PCA will review each application on its own merit ... assuming enough races AFTER the NASA School, and no negative feedback from NASA or SCCA, the usual route would be a Provisional License Application ... it would never be a renewal ... it might be a Rookie License Application. * if u have a legal car for NASA for safety reasons, then u will have a legal PCA car for safety reasons with one exception: external cut-off switch (can be installed internally, with an external pull wire). Not sure how tightly this is enforced but it is the rule.

* Your car must display 2 PCA Club Race logo on both sides of the car.

* All cars must have their class displayed front and rear in easily readable characters at least 4 inches high. The Cup class is SP2. The Super Cup class is SP3.

*All cars will be equipped with a seat back brace except as provided in Safety Rule 27 Said device will mount securely to the roll cage/bar and will rest firmly against the back of the seat. The portion that contacts the seat will be a minimum of twelve (12) square inches and larger is suggested. The seat construction must be compatible with the seat back brace and not
pose a hazard to the driver. The seat back brace for composite seats must have a minimum of thirty (30) square inches contacting the seat back, and must have 0.5” to 2” of high density foam padding between the brace and the seat back. The seat back brace cannot be bolted to a composite seat unless the manufacturer has designed the seat to bolt to a brace. Seats
constructed with a tube frame require a brace which is secured to the seat frame, not the back of the seat, unless the seat can be used without
a brace per Safety Rule 16.

So when I read the rulebook, it says all seats must have a seatback brace except those covered by Safety Rule 27.... safety rule 27 says that wood rimmed steering wheels are prohibited???
Other sanctioning bodies require seat back braces for FIA homologated seats that are more than 5 years old. The FIA says that NO auxilliary bracing or mounting of the seat should be employed other than the mounting points supplied by the manufacturer.
Not very many of the NW cars currently comply with the seatback regulation. All of them have cut off switches installed. I also need to see how many drivers currently own Hans devices, as SCCA has still not made them mandatory. For us "old" guys the medical deal should be easy, but the SCCA licensed "young" guys have 5 years between medical exam dates. Greg F

PCA safety rule 16. If the seat is within 3” of the firewall, a seat back brace is not needed but the area between the seat and firewall should be
padded with high density foam. A seat back brace is not required in cars equipped with seat and seat mount approved under
FIA 8855-1999 or 8862-2009. Installation of a new FIA approved seat requires concurrent installation of a new seat mount
and new seat rails, if seat rails are used. The seat mount and seat rails must be sold by the seat manufacturer for installation
with the specific seat selected. The chassis mounting points for the seat must be reinforced and in good condition. The seat
must be replaced after 6 years from the date of manufacture if not used with a seat back brace.
