What do you think? As a compliance check we would A: place your engine on "TDC" remove #2 spark plug place a measuring device down the cylinder with marks for a stock 2.5 and 2.7 if the tool goes farther in then the mark your engine is stroked. B: compression test. This is a simple mathmatical equitation...Compression divided by altitude correction divided by 18.5 = compression ratio. There is a chart for altitude correction For example, my car read 185 during a compression test at sea level so there is no altitude compensation. So 185 divided by 18.5 = 10.2to1 For 10.6to1 at sea level would read 196 psi max. Very simple and would make it fair for all.... Thoughts?

You lost me at "equitation." http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/equitationHowever, seems reasonable to me. Will this be available at the Pocono event, i.e. before PCA gets to snoop around? I have little doubt that my motor is outside of the band but always good to know ahead of time.

Pocono would be a good field testing of the concept.

Hey Bob, it makes sense to me. After all we're kinda checking for "horse"power right?

PCA is checking wheels sizes more closely this year.
They use a plastic rim gauge, which is what the tire guys use when they need to measure a rim for the balancer. Of course, it measures OD. But no rims have a flange which is more than 1/4" thick, so an 8.5 measured rim is going to be pretty close to 8" inside mounting flange to flange. You can see what the shape of the rim edge is, and account for that by where you measure from. If you have rims that have been widened, would be good to check at home.
