We are arranging to have a SCCA Tech Inspector at a Cup Chapter for at least one Cup weekend for the purpose of inspecting race cars and being issued a SCCA log book. The idea is to facilitate the process for having cars ready for Nationals in September when we race with SCA Pro.
As these dates become available, we will annouce on the forum. The SEC has several SCCA races schedule during the year, so there will be plenty of opprtunity in the SE.
In the MidAtlantic, we will have the SCCA Tech at the April event at Summit Point on Saturday beginning at 7am thru noon.

We had a SCCA Tech Inspector at Summit Pt last weekend and all went well. We had 15 cars get their SCCA log books for Nationals. Only issue that came up was a second door bar on the passeneger side which is an easy fix.
For those in the area, we are arranging for a good price on door bar installation for those in need. Just shoot me an email. Price will be under $200.

Will there be a SCCA tech at the PCA race at Watkins Glen issuing SCCA log books for Nationals? This would be appreciated as there is no access to SCCA in Canada and most/many Canadians will be attending the Glen.

If you are planning to attend Nationals this year, scca requires double door bars on both the driver and passenger side, so you will need to address this if need be for your scca log book. I am ordering from Autopower the material to easily add a door bar, so if you are in the MidAtlantic and need to add to your car, email asap, and I can order for you and deliver to track and save on some shipping.

SCCA actually requires 2 doorbars on each side of the car now. I think that is what Dave meant. They will allow an "X" or a parallel design as long as there are 2. Greg F

In case u have trouble getting a scca log book, I have arranged to have a scca scrut at VIR on that Thursday of Nationals at noon time to do inspections and issue log books. It's always a bit more risky to wait til last minute should a car be out of compliance, and then trying to fix the problem at the track the day before the event starts. So, for those who may not have been able to get a scca log book in time, you still have a shot at it at the track .
Please let me know in advance if you will need to get your car tech at that time.
