Just heard announced on the radio that IRL inked a deal to do a street race in Baltimore in 2011. Well, next year World Challenge will be shadowing the IRL events, much like this year. And, I have been in touch with WC about including the 944 Cup as a support race. WC is receptive to the idea. Nationals this year at VIR with WC will be our audition. How cool would that be -- a 944 Cup street race right here in the MidAtlantic. Yeah Babyyyyy!!!!!!!

Expect an official announcement on June 2 for the IRL event.

Yes, I heard on the radio yesterday that it's a 5 year deal and that its to take place sometime during the first 2 weeks in August.

For the 944 Cup, it all begins in September 2010 when we audition for World Challenge at Nationals at VIR.

Indy Racing announced the Baltimore street race yesterday on their Versus broadcast of the Texas 550. First weekend in August.

If we pull this off, makes having a National Championship SERIES more likely for 2011 with Baltimore, VIR and 2 others with World Challenge, like Mosport or the Glen and one more race in the South.

This race has been bumped back to Labor Day weekend. WC is still in the mix though nothing has been signed yet. And they say they will do everything they can to bring us along. My understanding is that Indy has a signed deal, and that thet are currently working on a contract with ALMS, with WC next. With Indy cars and ALMS, if we get in, we would be a support race during the week, likely Friday.

Of course all this is first dependent on a good showing at Nationals this year.
