I was hoping that the Saturday Race and the Sunday Race both count towards race points. Just like 2009 at VIR, but with longer races.

And that can happen. But still need qualifiers to be eligible to win the National Championship.

Nice work Dave. :D Looking forward to this event, and a full season this year, assuming I can make all the events fit with my work schedule. :|

The Speed World Challenge VIR race will be broadcast on VERSUS on September 26, 2010 between 4:30pm-6pm. And while the 944 Cup race will not be part of the broadcast, we are working with SWC to have a vinette on the 944 Cup during the broadcast.

This event, like all other SWC events, is a paid spectator event and access to the paddock and pits will be restricted to those with proper credentials, not available to the general public. A limited number of passes will be made available for each race team for driver and crew. For all others, general admission tickets will be available for purchase from VIR for individual days, or a Multi-Day Pass.

Previoul;sy agreed with SCCA that we’d have to join SCCA as full members ( $85 per year right now) but we would NOT need to get an SCCA license.

Was suppose to have a conference call with scca pro today to iron out the details on tech and licensing, but technical difficulties prevented the call from happening. reshceduled for tomorrow. will have more inof then. Expect a few items will need to be upgraded to meet scca req.

Had the conference call today with SCCA Pro, just finished. I thought it went very well. Some of our cars will need to do some upgrading on some safety items, but that's is generally a good thing for our cars. Registration, credentials, licensing, scheduling, all is working out fairly well I think. Personally, never thought I would ever have a Pro Comp License, let alone at the age of 60. Hey Dad, aint this somethin'.

Will post some of the details later tonite when I return from dinner.

Based on the conference call yesterday with SCCA Pro, to race at the SWC event, each driver will need to join SCCA. This can be done online and will cost $85.

Each driver will also need to have a SCCA Pro comp license or an FIA license. SCCA has made it possible for us to obtain a Provisional Pro comp license. We will be provided with a link where we will be able to download an application form, that can be downloaded, printed and mailed into SCCA. The cost is $70, half the price for a full license. SCCA will accept proof of a current SCCA or NASA license, including current physical, for a driver to qualify for this Pro license.

Each driver will receive Hot Pass credentials from SCCA at the track which will allow the driver full access to the paddock and hot pits for the entire weekend. Each driver will receive 4 crew "Cold Pass" passes for the weekend. The Cold Pass gives crew access to the paddock. Crew can obtain Hot Passes if they are members of SCCA. Hot Passes give the holder access to the hot pits in addition to the paddock. Crew can get a weekend SCCA membership for $35 or an annual membership for $85.

Once all the details are confirmed and links provided, I suggest making a new "Official National Registration" thread.
